Description
Best Quality Moroccan Saffron
Taliouine, a little mountain village in the south of Morocco, and the Ourika Valley at the foot of the Atlas Mountains near Marrakech are two well-known regions where the saffron crocuses grow.
Saffron is known to be the most expensive spice and rarest in the world. Saffron comes from a flower, more precisely, the pistil of Crocus sativus. It is often referred to as the “Red Gold”.
Its harvest is very difficult, it is done manually for a short period of time. It takes about 200,000 flowers to produce 1kg of saffron.
Next to the culinary function, it has also medical uses like boosting mood, helping in depression, reducing PMS symptomes and promoting libido.
It is a great addition to dishes, tea and even coffee!
